Game of Thrones’ Alan Taylor To Direct Thor 2 (2013)

With Patty Jenkins being let go of Thor 2, Marvel immediately began pursuing other names to direct the sequel to Kenneth Branagh’s smash hit.

Among the names in the mix was Alan Taylor of Game of Thrones fame, who Deadline now reports will be helming the continuing adventures of the god of thunder.

The departure of Jenkins was not without a bit of controversy as not only did it come out that she was fired, but reportedly, Natalie Portman was furious over Jenkins being let go as well.

Hopefully with Taylor officially on board, everyone can move on to getting the movie done — including work on a new script, as Thor 2 does have a November 15th, 2013 release date.
