Fox Developing DC Comics ‘The Spectre’ TV Show

[page_title]

picI find this bit of news rather interesting, as Fox passed on the supernatural/horror adaption of Stephen King’s son, Joe Hill’s graphic novel, Locke & Key.

Reportedly, Fox is developing a television adaption of the DC Comics character, The Spectre.

A script is in the works with Brandon Camp (John Doe) on as both writer and executive producer. Bill Gerber is on as the full producer.

Deadline states that the TV adaption for The Spectre, “centers on a former cop serving time in afterlife limbo who hunts down earthly criminals on behalf of the dead — and mortals soon to be dead, if ultimate justice is not served.”

Will “The Spectre” feature the original alter ego, Jim Corrigan? Or the more recent, Africa American Crispus Allen?

At times, the Spectre has been featured as the Angel of Death, the Spirit of Vengeance and has been depicted as an all-powerful being, one of the most powerful in the DC Universe.

I wonder how much the TV adaption will go into?

Regardless, I’m looking forward to this as I was a big fan of John Ostrander’s Spectre.
