[[wysiwyg_imageupload:1097:]]Fans of Firefly will get to see Mal and Cobb reunited on an episode of Castle as Adam Baldwin guest stars.
Of course, Nathan Fillion played Captain Mal Reynolds with Baldwin playing tough-guy Jayne Cobb on the one-and-done sci-fi series, Firefly, that also saw a movie spinoff with Serenity.
Baldwin plays another tough guy this time around with Ethan Slaughter, a gang squad cop, in the Castle episode that airs April 16th.
The two were on set and did talk about Firefly, with Fillion stating that he has been trying to get the entire cast on Castle for an episode.
“I’ve been pitching an episode where the lead actor of a failed TV sci-fi series gets killed, and it turns out the whole cast and writers hated him and are all suspects,” Nathan tells TVGuide. “It would be very exciting for Firefly fans because I’d want to get everybody back for this episode, but with Adam on this show, he’s single-handedly ruined that! But I can still have my hope.”
The two also spoke about the episode where Cobb was going to get jettisoned out of the airlock.
“It was the scene that let everybody know Jayne, this big lovable character, was not to be trusted and would sell you out if he got the chance,” said Fillion.
Castle airs Monday nights on ABC.
If you have never checked out Firefly, I strongly recommend you do so! You can catch it on Netflix — and it’s created by The Avengers director Joss Whedon! Han Solo ain’t got nothing on the Captain!
