TNT’s alien invasion sci-fi series, Falling Skies, has nabbed Doug Jones for Season 3.
Jones, known for portraying the Silver Surfer from Fantastic Four as well as Abe Sapien and the Angel of Death in the Hellboy movies, will play the alien that was featured in the last scene of the Season 2 finale (see right).
It’s not known whether or not the alien is a good guy, which was the finale teaser, but from the looks of it, it seems Doug Jones will be joining the 2nd Mass.
Two other additions to the cast include Noah Wyle’s ER co-star, Gloria Reuben, as well as House‘s Robert Sean Leonard.
Reuben will be featured in scenes opposite Wyle’s Tom Mason, with “political knowledge and experience [that] could prove extremely helpful to Tom,” reports Deadline.
Leonard plays Robert Kadar, PhD, described by EW as “an obsessive but gifted scientist who runs Charleston’s power grid and lives underground with his pet rats.” The children of the underground community dub him “The Rat King.”
Speaking of Jones and the Surfer, here are some behind the screen images we grabbed from a while back:
