The Avengers: Endgame Encore trailer pulled 77 million views in its first 24 hours, per Deadline, more than four times what any re-release trailer has ever done.
Top Gun‘s 40th-anniversary trailer did 19 million views this May ahead of its one-week run alongside Maverick. Avatar‘s first re-release trailer did 14 million. Titanic‘s did 13 million.
Encore beat all three of them combined, with about 31 million views to spare.
To be fair, none of those included extra footage, as the Avengers: Endgame Encore re-release has footage tied to Doomsday in December. Rumors also offer a potential reshoot or edits of the original.

Where 77 Million Views Came From
Deadline reports the social volume was driven by eagerness for the Doomsday footage, nostalgia for Endgame‘s 2019 theatrical run, fans’ personal attachment to the movie, and jokes about spoilers.
That tracks with what the trailer actually is. Marvel cut the spot from opening-night crowd footage — audiences losing it on April 26, 2019, as the portals open and Cap says the line — and sold the memory of being in that theater rather than the movie itself.
The only new thing in the frame was the color regrade, and fans caught that within hours.
For calibration: the original Endgame teaser did 289 million views in its first 24 hours in December 2018, a record at the time. Encore‘s 77 million is roughly a quarter of that, generated by a seven-year-old movie with zero unseen plot, streaming on Disney+ tonight for anyone who wants it free.

The Number The Record Chatter Needed
There’s been talk of Encore pushing Endgame‘s $2.799 billion back past Avatar‘s $2.923 billion worldwide, and we called that a big ask, roughly $124 million from a re-release.
This is the first data point suggesting the ask isn’t pure fan math. Trailer views don’t buy tickets, but when the demand proxy quadruples the category record, the forecast conversation changes.
The domestic stakes are newer. Spider-Man: Brand New Day just passed Endgame at $858.4 million to take the No. 2 all-time domestic spot, and Encore‘s gross is Endgame‘s only way back.
It’s also 77 million people watching a trailer that opens on an Infinity Vision card. Disney could not have bought a bigger launch ad for the format Doomsday is counting on in December.
File the whole thing where it belongs: an audience this eager to rewatch a 2019 movie in a theater is not an audience with superhero fatigue.
Avengers: Endgame Encore opens September 25. Avengers: Doomsday follows December 18.
