Marvel Studios recently announced a large slate of movies, which includes a Carol Danvers Captain Marvel movie.
Emily Blunt happens to be a fan-favorite pick to play Ms. Marvel as the actress recently showed off her physical side in the Tom Cruise film, Edge Of Tomorrow.
Blunt recently spoke with Vulture, where she was asked about playing Ms. Marvel, and let it be known that for now nothing is official.
“Oh! No one’s offered me that officially, so it’s … [laughs] very unofficial,” Blunt said. “I think it’s fan-casting, which is always very nice. But nothing official has been offered, for sure.”
While Emily Blunt may not be Ms. Marvel (at least yet), Blunt does confirm Marvel Studios has been eyeing her for roles in their films as she has been offered both the parts of Black Widow and Agent Carter.
“Yeah, but it was never the right time, really, and it just didn’t work out scheduling-wise with those two, ” Blunt offered.” It’s always a difficult thing to talk about, because it’s not fair to the actresses who ended up playing them, you know? It just wasn’t the right time.”
Emily Blunt can be seen in “Into The Woods” which is currently in theaters; “Captain Marvel” has a July 6, 2018 release.
