Doctor Who: Matt Smith Leaving in 2013? (Video)

New Doctor come 2013?

Seems likely, as current Doctor Who Matt Smith seems to have caught the Hollywood bug with his recent visit last summer.

At the recent 2011 Scream Awards VH1 caught up with Matt Smith, who won the award for best Sci-Fi Actor, and asked when American audiences would get to see him, Smith responded with:

"Well, hopefully soon. I've got another year of Doctor Who, but then I'm certainly going to give it a shot and come out and hang in L.A. As you say, people like Andy have come over, and he's a mate of mine. I'm very proud to see him doing Spider-Man, 'cause we did a play together in England, and, you know, Spider-Man now, it's incredible. And he'll be brilliant, he'll be so brilliant."

Smith is then asked if he has friends within the "Brit Pack" of Hollywood, and remarks how well they are all doing.

"Yeah, yeah, I've got British friends here, people like Andy. I don't know Carey or Robert, but I've got a lot of British friends here that are doing very well and loving living over here as well, which is very interesting."

With a year on his contract, meaning 13 episodes (I believe), and rumor that next year will only see a half season starting in the Fall, it looks as if Matt Smith will be done by the time the 50th Anniversary hits in 2013. Moffat has promised big things for the Anniversary, could a new Doctor be part of it?
