Doctor Doom Costume Revealed At Marvel’s Comic-Con Booth Hours Before Hall H Panel

Doctor Doom has taken his throne at Marvel’s Comic-Con booth.

Hours before tonight’s Hall H panel, Marvel swapped out the color-shifting Latverian Witch display at Booth #2329 and replaced it with the full Doctor Doom costume worn by Robert Downey Jr. in Avengers: Doomsday, and Cosmic Book News got an up-close look on the show floor.

The costume is about as comic-accurate as it gets: the hooded green cloak and tunic over an armored chest piece embossed with rows of square panels, the polished silver mask, silver gauntlets and shin armor, and a chain draped across the chest connecting two engraved rondels at the shoulders. Dark chainmail-style sleeves and a layered leather belt with a silver buckle round it out.

The Hidden Details

Look closer and the costume starts telling a story.

There is a piece of fabric tied around Doom’s left arm, and fans are already speculating it’s a memorial band tied to the wife and child he reportedly loses in a Multiversal Incursion, the same personal tragedy teased by the trailer’s poster showing Doom before a shrine to his family. Eagle-eyed attendees also claim the rondels on his chest feature imagery tied to Thor and Captain Marvel, which would suggest Doom built his armor with Earth’s heaviest hitters specifically in mind. None of that is confirmed, but Marvel put this costume on the floor knowing exactly what fans would zoom in on.

Doom Completes The Lineup

The Doom reveal caps a week where Marvel’s booth has done all the talking: costumes for Cyclops, Invisible Woman, Thor with Stormbreaker, Sam Wilson’s Captain America with the vibranium shield, Yelena Belova, and Gambit, plus the Latverian Witch that cycled from green to orange to purple over three days and had fans theorizing all weekend.

Saving Doom for panel day was clearly the plan. Kevin Feige told Collider that when Marvel goes to Hall H, “it’s to have some surprises and show a few things.”

Marvel’s Hall H panel runs tonight from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. PT. Avengers: Doomsday opens December 18, 2026. For everything we know about the movie, check out our complete Avengers: Doomsday guide.
