DC Comics Giving Away Batman Comic Book For The Dark Knight Rises

At your local comic shops you will find a free DC Comics issue of the Batman: Earth One special preview edition.

No, it is not Free Comic Book Day, but it is free The Dark Knight Rises day!

In celebration of the movie’s release, DC Comics has provided local comic shop retailers over 500,000 free copies of the preview issue to be given out.

The preview issue features the first chapter from the graphic novel, Batman: Earth One, which is written by Geoff Johns with art by Gary Frank.

But’s that not all, as the free issue also includes a preview from the Batman, Vol. 1: The Court Of Owls trade by scribe Scott Snyder and superstar artist Greg Capullo.

The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters July 20th, 2012 and is directed by Christopher Nolan starring Christian Bale as Batman, Tom Hardy as Bane, Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Gary Oldman as Commissioner Gordon, Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox, Michael Cain as Alfred, Juno Temple and Josh Pence as a young Ra’s al Ghul.
