[[wysiwyg_imageupload:8707:]]With the Man of Steel premiering this weekend in both the U.S. and the UK, various interviews have been releasing information on the movie and the possibility of what’s to come.
The latest has it from David Goyer that Superman looks to be considered the first superhero that the world has seen.
Though Goyer doesn’t come out and say it, if his words are to be taken literally and the truth, that would mean no Ryan Reynolds as Green Lantern.
Via Bleeding Cool:
It is our intention that, in success, this would be the zero issue and from this point onward, possible films could expand into a shared universe. In our world, the Man of Steel world, Zack has gone on record saying that we’re implying there are other superheroes in this world. But I don’t know that they’ve come forward yet. The idea is that Superman is the first one. There might be people helping people, but not in costumes, and that Superman comes forward and announces himself to the world. In him announcing himself, he’s the one that changes things.
We see Goyer mentions heroes not in costumes and that they haven’t come forward.
The statement has to be read that the Man of Steel is the first of the DC shared movie universe, clarifying not only no Ryan Reynolds Green Lantern movie, but as we have been previously told many times, the Christopher Nolan Batman movies starring Christian Bale are not a part of the new movies as well.
Goyer goes on to mention that Superman isn’t alone.
Man of Steel doesn’t exist in a vacuum.
The question remains what happens next as it’s been rumored that Man of Steel 2 has already been green lit, while there is murmuring of the Justice League movie.
Man of Steel opens June 14th in IMAX 3D directed by Zack Snyder and starring Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman and Michael Shannon as Zod.
