The Dark Knight Rises (2012): Video Game Tie-In To Be Released?

[page_title]

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:834:]]It’s no secret that Christopher Nolan’s upcoming final Batman installment, The Dark Knight Rises, is going to be one of this year’s biggest blockbusters.

The movie will be huge not only in the theater, but in retail stores as well.

We’ve seen action figures, statues and almost everything in between.

Now, word comes from an anonymous UK retailer that a video game tie-in for The Dark Knight Rises will be released.

The cpu and gaming website, MCV, states they obtained a schedule from a “major UK High Street retailer” for 2012 that lists a new Batman title in the works, and that it will be more a physical release as opposed to a digital one.

A second gaming title is also listed with Battlefield Evolved, and the recently announced Grand Theft Auto V is said to get a Fall release.

Regarding The Dark Knight Rises video game, if indeed there is one in the works, it seems an announcement would most likely come soon as we are only a few months out from the movie.

There was a Batman Begins video game, which received mixed reviews, but the The Dark Knight video game was scrapped, with Gary Oldman even mentioning the game in an interview.

The Dark Knight Rises seems a suitable adaptation into gaming with all the characters and vehicles involved. You could play as Batman, fly the Bat(wing), play as Catwoman or even Bane.

The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters July 20th, 2012 and is directed by Christopher Nolan starring Christian Bale as Batman, Tom Hardy as Bane, Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Gary Oldman as Commissioner Gordon, Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox, Michael Cain as Alfred, Juno Temple and Josh Pence as a young Ra’s al Ghul.
