The Dark Knight Rises (2012): New High-Res Toy Images May Reveal Spoilers

Some high-res images of new toys from The Dark Knight Rises have surfaced, which may reveal some slight details and spoilers for the movie.

Obviously while they are toys, and may be a bit embellished, we do see that a glider version of Batman is paired with The Bat(wing), which could be Batman’s escape — much as the Batpod is Batman’s form of escape from the Tumbler.

Speaking of the Batpod, we see some additional weapons, again, which may just be for the sake of being a toy.

Regarding Bane, what may be of interest is two things: the container and the power suit. Fans have remarked that Tom Hardy is a bit on the small side, which I put forth the reason being as he is post-venom; however, the toys reveal some kind of power suit. I think it is just that, a part of the toy, as I don’t recall seeing Bane wearing a CGI-suit, and this would look ridiculous in the movie. The container looks to be some sort of launch pad for the personal flying apparatus that Bane wears; same with Batman. Most likely we will not be seeing these two duke-ing it out in the air, so we are safe there.

The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters July 20th, 2012 and is directed by Christopher Nolan starring Christian Bale as Batman, Tom Hardy as Bane, Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Gary Oldman as Commissioner Gordon, Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox, Michael Cain as Alfred, Juno Temple and Josh Pence as a young Ra’s al Ghul.
