Daredevil: Born Again is ending. The upcoming third season will be the show’s last, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The decision comes about two months after Season 3 finished filming. The final season is set to hit Disney+ in 2027.
Marvel has also parted ways with showrunner Dario Scardapane. His contract expired, and Marvel chose not to sign him to a new deal.
Marvel had no comment on the report.

Showrunner Out With The Season Unfinished
Scardapane isn’t just leaving, he’s leaving in the middle of post-production, while the final season is still being edited and finished.
THR reports it’s unclear who will see the show through to the end, though one source says post-production is in its final stages.
Scardapane came over from Netflix’s Punisher series and took charge of Born Again after Marvel threw out its original version of the show during the 2023 strikes.
Original head writers Matt Corman and Chris Ord had been making a lighter, more episodic take on Matt Murdock. Marvel let them go and brought in Scardapane, with Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead (Loki, Moon Knight) joining as directors.
The original 18-episode order was split in two and ended up at 17 episodes total, nine for Season 1 and eight for Season 2, which ran this past spring and ended with Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) behind bars.
Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) spent Season 2 as mayor of New York going after Daredevil and the city’s vigilantes, so Season 3 has one last run to finish that fight.

The Ratings Never Showed Up
The ending follows two seasons of ugly numbers.
Daredevil: Born Again went 0-for-17 on the Nielsen streaming charts, not a single episode from either season cracked the weekly Top 10.
Luminate data also showed Season 2 lost roughly half its audience compared to the first season.

Nothing Is On The Books After Daredevil
Marvel Television has been steadily cutting back the number of shows it makes for Disney+.
VisionQuest, the Paul Bettany series that closes out the WandaVision trilogy, debuts in October. After Daredevil‘s final season in 2027, nothing else is currently on the schedule.
Disney+ also reversed course on Wonder Man earlier this year, canceling the show after first renewing it for a second season. The cutbacks aren’t limited to Marvel, either, with Disney+ recently scrapping its live-action Gargoyles series.
Marvel does keep three to five live-action shows in development at any given time, per THR, and the studio just greenlit a new spy thriller going by the name Zodiac.
What that title means is under wraps, but in the comics, Zodiac is a criminal organization themed to the twelve star signs and led by the villain Scorpio — secretly Nick Fury’s own brother, Jake — best known for going to war with S.H.I.E.L.D.
So Season 3 is it: one last fight for the Man Without Fear when Daredevil: Born Again returns in 2027.
