Update: Amazing Spider-Man #698 spoilers are online giving – perhaps – the real identity of Superior Spider-Man.

We may have the identity of the new Superior Spider-Man as apparently Amazing Spider-Man writer Dan Slott let it slip through a tweet what was originally meant to be a direct message to artist Ryan Stegman.

While the tweet in question has been deleted, a number of amazing followers of Dan Slott have screen-grabbed the text.

The “Miguel” in question would have to be Miguel O’Hara, the Spider-Man of 2099.

While I have no idea how this will happen, as I haven’t been reading Marvel much as of late, at least it helps explain Axel Alonso’s reference to Marvel Cosmic having a closer relationship to Spider-Man. Right?

Maybe Mephisto switches Peter and Miguel; that would be my best guess.

We also know that Miquel will go on to “get it on” with Mary Jane.
