The creators of Arrow and The Vampire Diaries are set to adapt the UK 1970s television show The Tomorrow People for the CW.
Greg Berlanti and Julie Plec will be on as executive producers with the project written by Phil Klemmer, of Chuck fame.
According to Deadline, The Tomorrow People is described as:
In the vein of X-Men and Heroes, Tomorrow People is the story of several young people from around the world who represent the next stage in human evolution, possessing special powers, including the ability to teleport and communicate with each other telepathically. Together they work to defeat the forces of evil.
The original UK show was an answer to Doctor Who, with The Tomorrow People airing for 8 years.
Deadline says that Berlanti and Plec are big fans of the original show and have been attempting to grab the rights for some time.
