UPDATE: A Paramount insider says Corenswet could keep Superman if Man of Tomorrow makes money, but warns, “The Ellisons are NOT loyal people.”
A new rumor says David Corenswet’s Superman is safe no matter what the Paramount merger does to DC Studios.
In his latest newsletter, Jeff Sneider quotes a source telling him, “Whatever happens with DC Studios after the merger, David Corenswet will be wearing that red cape for the next decade, easy.”
Sneider adds that he has “heard good early buzz” about Man of Tomorrow.
David Ellison produced Corenswet’s upcoming football movie Mr. Irrelevant and is said to have built a good rapport with the actor.

Sneider’s Track Record On The Merger
Worth remembering is how Sneider has handled this story so far.
When our first reports landed in November that Paramount was coming for Warner Bros., Sneider’s response was that Paramount wouldn’t be buying WBD.
Paramount is buying WBD. The $111 billion deal is set to close any day now.
Last month, Sneider said James Gunn “just extended” his DC contract, then called the story “absurd” and walked it back, saying he was citing reporting that was already out there.
Gunn’s deal still expires in 2027, the year Man of Tomorrow opens.
And the new newsletter talks up Corenswet’s future while saying nothing about Gunn extending.
Even the source’s quote starts with “whatever happens with DC Studios.”

‘More Flab Than Muscles’
Corenswet recently came up with our Paramount insiders, and the notes weren’t about his acting, they laughed.
“more flab than muscles lol. And that diaper aka costume looks terrible,” one Paramount insider tells us.
Both complaints are fixable. A training program handles the first, a costume redesign handles the second, and neither requires a recast.
The Ellison connection is also real. Corenswet is at Paramount right now with Mr. Irrelevant, the John Tuggle movie Ellison produced through Skydance Sports, opening December 25 with strong test scores reported by THR back in June.
Corenswet is a Juilliard-trained actor who famously went back and forth with Gunn on set over the Lois and Clark argument scene in Superman. He fights for the material.
And he has been out there selling the sequel, saying Man of Tomorrow goes “more mature” and “deeper”.

Cavill, Snyder And The Reeves Question
On the future of Superman under Paramount-Warner, our sources haven’t moved: Henry Cavill will be back with Zack Snyder.
The latest on that front is The Dark Knight Returns being looked at as a two-part event movie, which insiders say Snyder would do first, with Ben Affleck and Cavill.
Also recall we have been told Snyder’s return is backed by the Saudis, who happen to be the big investors backing Paramount in the WBD deal.
We’re also told Ellison is going all in on Batman and Matt Reeves, and that the goal is to be able to take on Marvel.
The merger closes within days. Gunn’s contract runs through 2027. Man of Tomorrow opens July 9, 2027.
As for a decade of Corenswet in the cape, I asked our sources if taking on Marvel means Reeves using his own Superman. I got nothing back on that one.
Recently, also saw Pattinson basically laugh at using Gunn’s Superman, which says a lot.
As we’ve been told, it’s going to be an interesting next 6-12 months. Hold tight.
