UPDATE: Superman Has Multiple Suits In Man of Tomorrow Including A Space Suit (Rumor)

David Corenswet says Man of Tomorrow is stepping things up from Superman.

“The characters are a little more mature,” Corenswet told Entertainment Tonight in a new interview. “They’re going to go a little bit deeper, not to mention all the crazy stuff. Nick Hoult in the war suit.”

ET asked his reaction to seeing Nicholas Hoult walk on set wearing Lex Luthor’s war suit.

“You’re going to be hard to fight,” Corenswet said. “Like, I’m going to rip my knuckles up punching you.”

James Gunn previously revealed a first look at Hoult in the war suit. Corenswet said he just wrapped the sequel, which finished filming on August 26.

“More Mature” Matches The Guardians 3 Rumor

Corenswet’s word choice should sound familiar.

On September 12, CBN covered a rumor claiming the sequel’s tone is much more mature, denser, and more epic than the first film — closer to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 than to 2025’s Superman.

That report came from a Brazilian fan account, so it stays in the rumor column.

Now the star of the movie is on the record with the same word: mature.

The rumor was heavy on Lex, too. It described a prison fight with a shirtless Hoult showing off Luthor’s physique, and Gunn himself has said the movie is about Lex and Clark.

Corenswet calling the war suit part of “all the crazy stuff” fits right in.

Superman And Mr. Irrelevant: “Both Sides Of The Extremes”

Corenswet sat down with ET while promoting Mr. Irrelevant, the true story of John Tuggle, the last pick of the 1983 NFL Draft who made the New York Giants roster before dying of cancer at 25.

He sees a connection between the two roles.

“It’s nice that I got to play Superman [and] now Mr. Irrelevant. Both sides of the extremes,” Corenswet said. “They’re both good people who ultimately want to do a good job. They’re decent men.”

The interview got personal. Corenswet’s father, John, died of lung cancer when the actor was 25 — the same age Tuggle was when he died.

“That all reminded me of some of my experiences with my dad growing up,” Corenswet said of playing a character going through a cancer diagnosis, treatment, and remission.
