Up next for the Fox Studios X-Men franchise is X-Men: Apocalypse, which will feature the younger generation of actors.
Will Hugh Jackman be a part of the film reprising as Wolverine?
“I have been speaking to the guys, and I’m not at liberty to tell exactly what’s going on,” Jackman said. “Which is largely framing my answer here.”
“But there’s still a lot unknown about that, actually,” he continued. “There are some very exciting things about integrating the whole X-Men world, including the Wolverine movie. There’s some really cool things going on.”
Regarding those “cool things,” in addition to X-Men: Apocalypse and The Wolverine 2, Fox is developing a Deadpool movie starring Ryan Reynolds set for 2016, and a Gambit movie with Channing Tatum looks to be in the works.
It also recently became known through the Sony leaks that Fox is developing a share movie universe between the X-Men and Fantastic Four and has plans to develop a crossover film.
X-Men: Apocalypse has a May 27, 2016 release starring Oscar Isaac as Apocalypse, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, Michael Fassbender as Magneto, James McAvoy as Charles Xavier and Nicholas Hoult as Beast.
