Warner Bros. president of worldwide production Greg Silverman confirmed the news, reports the Wall Street Journal.
It's also stated that production for Batman Vs. Superman will begin next month.
"It will be a further expansion of this universe,” Silverman said. “Superman vs Batman will lead into Justice League.”
It's stated a script for the Justice League movie is in development and the release date is not set, but it's said Justice League is unlikely to come out before 2018.
Four other movies are also said to be in development that won't be connected to Justice League: “Shazam,” “Metal Men,” “100 Bullets,” and “Fables.”
It's also said there are no plans for a Wonder Woman movie, but it's a possibility.
"That is our hope,” said Sue Kroll, president of worldwide marketing. “With the right script, that could be viable. The world is ready for her.”
It wasn't said which characters will be featured in the Justice League movie, but Henry Cavil as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman are expected as they are already cast for Batman Vs. Superman. Ray Fisher is rumored to be playing Cyborg in Batman Vs. Superman and Jason Momoa is rumored for a role as well.
A while back, Snyder tweeted the following image of himself in front of Warner Bros. Studios.
The untitled "Batman Vs Superman" has a newly announced May 6, 2016 release starring Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Ray Fisher as Cyborg with Callan Mulvey, Holly Hunter and Tao Okamoto in new character roles for the film.
