At a press conference, Megan Fox compared the TMNT fanboy outrage to that of the recent Transformers: Age Of Extincion.
“Let me tell you something about those people,” she said during the Los Angeles event on Friday (via CinemaBlend). “How much money did ‘Transformers 4′ make? Exactly. Those people can complain. They all go to the theater. They’re gonna love it and if they don’t love it, they can f–ck off. And that’s the end of that.”
Transformers 4 has made over a billion dollars at the box office, but has been the worst reviewed movies of the franchise by both critics and audiences alike. It also currently has the year's best opening (but not without some controversy).
How well will Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles do? That remains to be seen, but the movie does open on Friday.
"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" has an August 8, 2014 release directed by Jonathan Liebesman, produced by Michael Bay starring Megan Fox as April O'Neil, William Fichtner as Shredder, Pete Ploszek as Leonardo, Alan Ritchson as Raphael, Jeremy Howard as Donatello, Noel Fisher as Michelangelo, Will Arnett as Vernon Fenwick, and Whoopi Goldberg as Bernadette Thompson.
The city needs heroes. Darkness has settled over New York City as Shredder and his evil Foot Clan have an iron grip on everything from the police to the politicians. The future is grim until four unlikely outcast brothers rise from the sewers and discover their destiny as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Turtles must work with fearless reporter April and her wise-cracking cameraman Vern Fenwick to save the city and unravel Shredder’s diabolical plan.
