Back in August it was revealed the League Of Assassins would play a role in Season 2 of Arrow.
Now more details have become known from last night's episode.
Last night's episode of Arrow saw more from Black Canary (Caity Lotz), where it was stated Ra's al Ghul wants her back. Another member of the League of Assassins confronted her, with Black Canary killing him with his own dagger. More than likely from that we are to believe that Black Canary is a member of the League of Assassins as well, as that is where she achieved her training, and similar to Batman, left the League for whatever reasons.
We see that the creators of Arrow didn't sidestep mention of Ra's al Ghul, who was played by Liam Neeson in Christopher Nolans' The Dark Knight Trilogy, but immediately let the audience know that the Batman villain plays a part in the League Of Assassins, but more importantly in Arrow. The creators of Arrow could have easily achieved the same desired result in the story by having the assassin tell Black Canary "the League of Assassins wants you back," but instead they went right away with "Ra's al Ghul."
Navid Negahban will be playing the main League Of Assassins villain as Al-Owal. It's also known in the comics that John Barrowman's character, Merlyn, is a member of the League, but it remains to be seen if that holds true for the TV series. It's been confirmed that Barrowman will be returning this season. Could the Lazarus Pit play a role in the return of Merlyn?
Regarding Black Canary, we also see that essentially she is at the same point as Oliver Queen was at the start of Season One as she kills while Stephen Amell's Arrow has seen the light.
So far this season is off to a great start. I'm also impressed with the fight choreography in the series.
"Arrow" airs Wednesdays at 8pm ET on the CW.
