Joss Whedon Says Ultron Is Disturbed In The Avengers 2

James Spader will be playing the villain of The Avengers 2 with Ultron.

In the latest issue of Empire Magazine, director Joss Whedon discusses the character and his thoughts on the evil robot.

Last time, I had all of Earth's Mightiest Heroes versus one British character actor, and I needed more conflict. I'm having a blast with Ultron. He's not a creature of logic -- he's a robot who's genuinely disturbed. We're finding out what makes him menacing and at the same time endearing and funny and strange and unexpected, and everything a robot never is.

Whedon also says that The Avengers 2 is different than the first one.

This, palette-wise, is very different. I'm trying to make a different film. Because why would you make one movie twice? That seems weird.

Different reports have described details about the use of Ultron in The Avengers 2 which have the robot laying waste to cities as well as seeing multiple Ultrons in concept art (below).

"The Avengers: Age Of Ultron" hits May 1, 2015 directed by Joss Whedon starring Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson, Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch, Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Quicksilver, Paul Bettany as Vision, with James Spader as Ultron.
