Wth James Gunn currently busy putting together the Guardians of the Galaxy movie in London, what could be next for the director?
How about movies for Hit-Monkey, Thunderbolts or the Grant Morrison / Frank Quitely Vertigo comic, We3?
James Gunn answers fan questions over at his Form Spring account with one being: If you could write/direct any other property of film, comic, book, tv show, etc, what would you chose?
[[wysiwyg_imageupload:10117:]]"We3, Hit Monkey, and Thunderbolts," Gunn replied.
We3 centers around three animals, a dog, cat and rabbit, who are kidnapped and encased in robot armor.
Hit-Monkey, from Marvel Comics, as the name suggests is a trained assassin, but with a catch: He assassinates assassins.
There have been a bunch of different versions of the Thunderbolts, with the original being a group of villains pretending to be a superhero team.
We see two out of the three movies mentioned feature animals, of which Gunn is currently tackling with Rocket Raccoon. It's quite possible if Gunn succeeds with Rocket on the big screen that it could lead to other similar themed movies. The director previously described Rocket Raccoon as the heart of the Guardians of the Galaxy movie, so it would seem Gunn does have an affinity for furry creatures.
The Guardians of the Galaxy movie has an August 1, 2014 release directed by James Gunn and starring Chris Pratt as Peter Quill Star-Lord, Dave Bautista as Drax The Destroyer and Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Benicio Del Toro as The Collector, Michael Rooker as Yondu, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Lee Pace as Ronan, Djimon Hounsu as Korath the Pursuer, with John C. Reilly as Rhomann Dey and Glen Close as Nova Prime.
Also rumored for the movie are Ophelia Lovibond and Enzo Cilenti.
