The Dark Knight Rises (2012): NYC Shooting Details

Matt McGloin Posted: 10/26/2011 - 12:32 COMMENT

picThe Dark Knight Rises is set to begin shooting in NYC with some details hitting the net.

The movie will shoot in Midtown NYC, Wall St. and Riis Park - and will see a big scene taking place at the Wall St. location as follows:

There are expected to be more than 1000 extras used in the scene which will be set in a Gotham that has been taken over by Bane. After months of chaos the cops return and the “good guys” battle it out with the “bad guys” for the streets of Gotham. Tom Hardy and Christian Bale are both expected to be there in full costumes as Bane and Batman.

Previously, it was stated the movie would be shooting at "Occupy Wall Street," but the actual location is two blocks from Zuccotti Park.

That info comes via OnLocationVactations, and I can say for certain a friend of mine is going to NYC for a week to shoot -- he plays a cop. So this sounds legit.

Wall Street in NYC - Saturday, October 29 and Sunday, October 30 and again on Saturday, November 5 and Sunday, November 6.

Midtown: West 58th Street between 7th and 5th Ave in NYC on Friday, 10/28 for 6 AM to Midnight.

Cosmic Book News will be sure to update when more becomes available. We'll also provide any pics that come out of the shootings from spectators.

The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters July 20th, 2012 and is directed by Christopher Nolan starring Christian Bale as Batman, Tom Hardy as Bane, Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Gary Oldman as Commissioner Gordon, Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox, Michael Cain as Alfred, Juno Temple and Josh Pence as a young Ra's al Ghul.
