The Avengers (2012): Defunct Video Game Footage (Screen Shots and Video)

Spoilers, ahoy!

About a month ago or so, character models of Thor, Capain America and Hawkeye (below) hit the web from an Avengers video game, with Thor battling a certain alien race giving further credit that the Skrulls are going to be the villains along side Loki in the upcoming movie.

A few days ago game footage from the Avengers video game was leaked, and subsequently taken down by THQ, but a smart cookie managed to take some screen shots (also below).

We see the game (or at least the level in the game) looks to be a first-person shooter from Iron Man's perspective, and pics of Hulk and Cap are present, as well.

UPDATE: The video footage below and additional screen shots reveal the game was, indeed, based on the first-person perspective of not only Iron Man, but Hulk, Cap and Thor.

UPDATE:The additional screen shots below reveals levels, finishers and game play footage. We see a couple Super-Skrull finishers including an X-Men and Fantastic Four finisher!

Apparently, this was developed by THQ's Studio Oz in Australia, who already had invested 18 months - with 200 people- into the game. However, Studio Oz happened to be in trouble, and went ahead creating the footage in hopes that Marvel would help keep the studio afloat. Marvel was said to like the footage, but THQ went ahead with the closure anyway.

In addition, a piece of concept art for the game featuring the Avengers from a German artist has hit the web.

Take a look!
