Chris Hemsworth looks to be done with the skinny era. That’s right, the mighty Thor is back.
The 42-year-old spent the past two weeks posting videos from a family adventure trip through the French Alps, and the God of Thunder physique is unmistakably back.
The timing is what makes it interesting, as Avengers: Secret Wars is expected to start filming this summer.
Hemsworth’s Weight Loss Fueled Thor Exit Talk
Just weeks ago, Hemsworth’s dramatically slimmed-down look set off a wave of Thor exit theories after the actor posted black-and-white wrap photos from his next movie, with fans wondering if the God of Thunder was quietly getting written out ahead of Secret Wars.
The answer arrived with the first look at Kockroach, which revealed Hemsworth playing a cockroach that transforms into a human and claws his way up as a New York gangster. The weight loss was for the role, not a farewell to the hammer.
Now the transformation is running in reverse.
The Muscle Is Back In Hemsworth’s French Alps Videos
A video posted around two weeks ago shows a shirtless and sunburned Hemsworth throwing up the shakas on a mountain summit with his boys after scaling the peak like a pack of mountain goats. The six-pack is fully back and then some. You can also seen the definition in his triceps.
A June 28 post followed with the family snowboarding on a glacier. “The adventure continues! Summer boarding in the French alps with my kids,” Hemsworth captioned the video, which pulled in over 141k likes, with The Mighty Thor herself, Natalie Portman, among them.
Hemsworth then capped off the trip with a downhill mountain biking video posted just days ago. “Wrapped up our trip with some two wheeled chariots,” he wrote.
The sleeveless camo vest hides nothing, as you can literally see the veins popping out of the actor’s arms. The post sits at 193k likes and counting, with even Strava’s official account chiming in: “don’t be shy Chris, drop the Strava.”
Avengers: Secret Wars Is Expected To Film This Summer

The Russo Brothers recently confirmed they are already in pre-production on Avengers: Secret Wars, and the movie is expected to go before cameras this summer, though Marvel has not announced an official production schedule.
Marvel also has not officially announced the Secret Wars cast. What is confirmed is that Hemsworth is part of the massive Avengers: Doomsday roster, and leaked Doomsday footage reportedly shows Thor prepping for battle alongside Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers as Doctor Doom unleashes the Sentinels.
Actors do not rebuild the superhero physique for fun. Hemsworth packing the size back on right as Secret Wars gears up points to one thing: Thor is suiting up again.
Avengers: Doomsday opens in theaters December 18, 2026, followed by Avengers: Secret Wars on December 17, 2027.
