CBS Greenlights Stephen King & Steven Spielberg’s Under The Dome

CBS has ordered 13 episodes of a new drama based on Stephen King’s 2009 novel, Under The Dome.

Steven Spielberg will be on as executive producer with Lost‘s Brian K. Vaughn on as writer.

It’s said the show will feature characters from the novel as well as original ones, and has the blessing of Stephen King.

The Under The Dome television series will also not feature the controversial ending that the novel had, but does hope to have a second season.

King’s novel sees a small New England town suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an enormous dome. The town’s inhabitants must deal with surviving the post-apocalyptic conditions while searching for answers to what this barrier is, where it came from and if and when it will go away.

Under The Dome will air next Summer.
