Carol Danvers To Be The New Captain Marvel Come July?

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:864:]]We just learned that the Captain Marvel is coming back during Rick Remender’s run on Secret Avengers, with issue #27, and now we are learning that something else may be in the cards for the fallen former Avenger.

Bleeding Cool has received word that come July, Carol Danvers, aka Ms. Marvel, will become Captain Marvel — written by Kelly Su DeConnick.

I”m told that this time, it’s Carol Danvers, Ms Marvel’s turn, in a new costume with a new name, and one that might be a little more user friendly for the fanboys. Coming from Marvel in July and written by Marvel rising star Kelly Sue DeConnick.

Interesting enough, a recent cover for Secret Avengers #28 features Danvers in her more cosmic form, Binary.

Are we to think that Mar-vell briefly makes an appearance during Avengers Vs. X-Men, only to “help out” and disappear once again, with Carol becoming “inspired” to don the Captain Marvel mantle — after she goes from being Ms. Marvel to Binary?

Carol Danvers recently starred in her own title, Ms. Marvel, which wasn’t a real chart topper.

Guess we’ll have to wait and see.
