Bourne Identity 5 To Feature Jeremy Renner

Universal Pictures is moving forward with the fifth Bourne Identity movie as it’s being reported that Jeremy Renner will return to reprise as Aaron Cross.

Deadline has it that Universal has hired Anthony Peckham (Sherlock Holmes) to script the fifth in the franchise that continues the Aaron Cross storyline.

Renner took over for Matt Damon with last year’s The Bourne Legacy, which made back more than double its budget with just over $276 million worldwide.

There has been talk of Matt Damon coming back, but it’s stated not without the Bourne Supermacy and Ultimatum director, Paul Greengrass, in addition to Damon questioning the storyline for his character in regards to what comes next now that his memory has returned.

Jeremy Renner recently wrapped American Hustle which stars Christian Bale, Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence; will reprise as Hawkeye for The Avengers 2, and is rumored for Mission Impossible 5.

Matt Damon stars in the R rated science-fiction film, Elysium, out August 9th directed by Neil Blomkamp.
