Benedict Cumberbatch Rumored For The Avengers 2

Did Marvel Studios sign Benedict Cumberbatch right in time for reshoots for The Avengers 2?

After what appeared to be months of negotiations with various actors, Marvel officially revealed that Benedict Cumberbatch is their choice of Sorcerer Supreme and will star in the 2016 Doctor Strange movie.

Now it’s being suggested that Cumberbatch could be first appearing in a cameo role in The Avengers 2, which would follow the Doctor Strange reference in Captain America 2.

Various internet fans and reports are speculating Doctor Strange was hinted at in the recent trailer for The Avengers 2, which depicted someone being operated on by what is guessed to be a “doctor.”

The Avengers 2 reshoots and additional scenes are scheduled for this January. Did Joss Whedon and Marvel purposely include a reference to a doctor in the trailer knowing he would be filming Doctor Strange in the future?

While it’s actually more internet speculation than anything, Benedict Cumberbatch appearing in The Avengers 2 definitely wouldn’t be out of the question as it would introduce the character to a huge audience, especially with the Doctor Strange movie coming out a year after The Avengers: Age Of Ultron.
