Ben Affleck Will Make Batman Cool Again Says Anthony Mackie

Sounds as if Anthony Mackie wasn’t that much of a fan of Christian Bale as the actor lets it be known he was more of a fan of Michael Keaton and glad that Ben Affleck will be the Caped Crusader making Batman cool again.

Mackie, Affleck’s co-star in Runner, Runner and a superhero of his own as takes to the skies as Falcon in Captain America 2, recently spoke with EOnline at the Red Carpet premiere for Runner, Runner about Ben Affleck as Batman.

“I think it’s great,” Anthony Mackie told EOnline about Ben Affleck being cast as Batman. “My favorite Batman was Michael Keaton because he made Batman like an everyday guy we can relate to. I feel like the last few [actors playing] Batman have been lost in trepidation that you really can’t relate to. So I feel like Ben Affleck—what makes him a star is he has that everyman quality. I feel like he is going to bring that back to Batman and make him cool again.”

When asked for what advice he would offer Ben Affleck, Mackie offered, “I said punch harder and he will win every fight.”

Runner, Runner premiers October 4th with Captain America 2 next April the 4th.

The sequel to “Man of Steel” has a July 17, 2015 release also starring Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane.
