Beavis and Butt-Head Return October 14 — Could Be Paramount’s Last Season

Beavis and Butt-Head Return October 14 — Could Be Paramount’s Last Season

Beavis and Butt-Head have a return date.

Comedy Central announced Thursday that Season 4 of Mike Judge’s Beavis and Butt-Head premieres October 14 at 10:30pm ET/PT with 12 new episodes.

The network also dropped a 30-second trailer, promising, in its own words, “a stupid new season.”

The duo lands on an already loaded Wednesday night.

October 14 is also a new episode of South Park‘s “South America” season, which airs at 10pm, putting Beavis and Butt-Head right after it.

Season 4 Here Is Season 12 Everywhere Else

The season math needs one line of translation.

Comedy Central counts this as Season 4 because the revival, Mike Judge’s Beavis and Butt-Head, launched on Paramount+ in 2022 and has run three seasons since.

Count every season since the duo hit MTV, and this is the twelfth overall.

The first three revival seasons, the classic episodes, Do America, and Do the Universe are all streaming on Paramount+.

Titmouse produces, with Judge executive producing alongside Lew Morton and Michael Rotenberg.

Mike Judge Is Taking The Show Back In 2027

Here is what makes this premiere date bigger than a premiere date.

As CBN covered in August, Judge has informed Paramount through his lawyers that he intends to use copyright law’s 35-year clawback to take Beavis and Butt-Head back.

Comedy Central’s own announcement traces the duo back to Judge’s 1992 short “Frog Baseball,” so the earliest the rights can move is 2027.

This is the season that was in production when that letter arrived.

Puck’s Matt Belloni, who first reported the letter, called it the franchise’s 12th season. Comedy Central just put a date on it.

The clawback covers U.S. rights only, and Paramount keeps everything already made.

What it loses in 2027 is the ability to make new episodes without a fresh deal on Judge’s terms.

That means these 12 episodes could be the last ones Paramount makes under the original agreement.

Paramount now has until October 14 to start reminding everyone, Judge included, what this franchise is worth.

Every rating point raises his price.
