A new rumor has landed online stating that Batman could be an older seasoned vet as he takes on Superman in the sequel to Man of Steel.
BatmanOnFilm has it from a couple of sources that Warner Bros. is eyeing popular actors in their 40s to play Batman in the reboot.
“Josh Duhamel, Jude Law, Gerard Butler, Josh Brolin, Jon Hamm, Brad Pitt, Ben Affleck, Jim Caviezel, etc.” are given as examples.
It’s stated the older Batman will have been on the job for several years.
However, that contradicts what David Goyer said about Superman being the first costumed superhero. Goyer did state there are other heroes in the DC shared movie universe, just that they don’t wear costumes.
Guess it’s possible Bruce Wayne could be helping people – just not as The Batman, and we could add Zack Snyder recently stated they have to go with whatever direction Warner Bros. basically tells them; so Goyer’s words could now be meaningless.
Our own DC Entertainment source told us 25-year-old Tyler Hoechlin is up for the new Batman, which suggests a younger version more on the same level as Henry Cavill and his Superman.
Superman/Batman, the sequel to Man of Steel, goes into production next year for a 2015 release starring Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane.
