UPDATE 10/5: Matt Reeves is stepping away from The Batman Part II for a family matter, and production has been temporarily paused. The studio says Reeves has its full support.
UPDATE 9/29: Primetime finished its opening weekend at $19.2 million, and Puck News named Pattinson its “Who Won the Week”.
Word from inside the studio on The Batman Part II keeps getting better.
Following Friday’s article on Robert Pattinson breaking down The Batman for GQ, our Paramount insider reached out with a new update on Matt Reeves’ sequel.
“I was told AGAIN that he’s 100% locked in and the dailies are blowing people’s minds,” the insider tells us.
Dailies are the raw footage the studio reviews as filming goes, so the people watching the movie come together day by day are the ones reacting.
“The studio is expecting a mega hit,” says the insider.
There’s more: “Reeves is the golden child at ParaBros.”
ParaBros is the insider’s shorthand for the incoming merged Paramount and Warner Bros., with David Ellison’s Paramount set to take over once the deal closes.

‘Off The Roof’ Since August
This lines up with everything our sources have been telling us for over a month.
On August 21, we reported early internal reaction to The Batman Part II was “off the roof,” with Pattinson “in top form.”
That same report laid out Ellison going all in on Batman once the merger closes: Reeves finishing his trilogy, plus an Arkham Asylum series trilogy.
“They’re really high on Reeves,” the source told us at the time, with Reeves and Pattinson “being offered whatever they want to continue the Batman franchise.”
Our source also said Paramount and WB see Pattinson as “the next Tom Cruise.”
Reeves already got fresh paperwork under the current regime, signing a new overall deal with Warner Bros. TV in September.
“BIG PLANS,” our source said of that one. “They’re giving him whatever he wants.”
Now the word is the same a month later, and it comes with dailies attached.

Primetime Takes On Avengers: Endgame
Pattinson also just backed the studio’s read up at the box office.
Primetime, which opened Friday with Pattinson as To Catch a Predator host Chris Hansen, is opening to an estimated $20 million this weekend.
It took on Avengers: Endgame Encore, Marvel’s re-release loaded with new Avengers: Doomsday scenes, which is estimated at $26 million.
Per Deadline, Pattinson had “massive turnout” from moviegoers 25 to 34, who made up 46% of Primetime‘s audience, by far its biggest age group, with the 18 to 34 crowd “huge” at 80% overall.
That is the same young audience that shows up for Batman, and it just showed up for Pattinson.

Insiders Expect Big Things From Dune 3
Our insiders are also expecting big things from Dune: Part Three.
Pattinson is thought to be in line for an Oscar nomination for Primetime, Dune 3, or both.
Back in August, our source called Pattinson “in top form and a strong early Oscar favorite” for Dune 3, where he plays the shape-shifting Scytale.
Dune: Part Three opens December 18, with Primetime in theaters now.

Shooting Since June For February 2028
Cameras have been rolling on The Batman Part II since June, with the shoot moving through Leavesden, London, Liverpool, and Glasgow’s frozen Gotham.
Pattinson leads returning cast members Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkis, and Colin Farrell.
Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Charles Dance, Brian Tyree Henry, and Sebastian Koch join in roles the studio has yet to confirm.
The Batman Part II opens in theaters February 18, 2028, and per our insider, the studio expects a mega hit when it does.
Everything we’re tracking on the sequel lives in our The Batman Part II guide.
Our Paramount insider sent over two more today: David Ellison was at Trump’s White House state dinner with Xi Jinping, and the re-release wave is going industry-wide.
