Brandon Davis got first dibs on an early Iron Studios Avengers: Doomsday Doctor Doom collectible, and one tiny accessory may have exposed a major Doctor Doom plot point.
The 1:10 scale statue puts Robert Downey Jr.’s Doom on his throne in full armor.
Iron Studios includes three interchangeable arms. One holds a book, one offers Doom an open hand, and the third grips a mystery device the company doesn’t name and describes only as an “extra arm.”
Davis posted a close look at the loose arm on X, writing, “The first Avengers: Doomsday collectible is all mine and it has a… new Doom prop accessory?” He followed with, “What do we think this is?”
The leading theory says Doom is holding the Ultimate Nullifier. However, it just may be the Key to the Library of Worlds from Jonathan Hickman’s Secret Wars more below.
Is It the Ultimate Nullifier?
The Ultimate Nullifier is one of the most destructive devices in Marvel Comics. Uatu sent Johnny Storm to Galactus’ ship to retrieve it in Fantastic Four #50, and Reed Richards used the threat of firing it to make Galactus leave Earth.
Marvel describes the small weapon as able to erase whatever its user targets. A lapse in concentration can make the effect spread, while later stories gaive it enough power to wipe out an entire universe. In the comics, Wendell Vaughn Quasar even used it on himself in Infinity War and survived.
The device has changed shape across the comics, so the prop does not need to match one classic version.
The MCU could give it the retro-futurist design used for Reed’s technology in The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
The Theory Fits Doom’s New Threat
The latest Avengers: Doomsday Special Look has Doom accusing the heroes of living “stolen lives” and demanding they give them back.
A device built to erase a person, timeline, or universe would turn that line into a direct threat. That actually fits with rumors about Doom’s motives.
The Nullifier also ties Doom to Reed Richards and the Fantastic Four. The weapon did not appear in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, leaving Marvel free to bring it into Doomsday as a late-game object.
Davis Thinks It Could Be TVA Tech
Davis has his own theory.
He thinks the mystery object may be a universe-hopping device, possibly connected to the TVA.
The idea fits with Marvel’s damaged TVA display at D23 and the larger multiverse conflict surrounding Avengers: Doomsday. Doom could be using the device to move between realities instead of erasing them.
Other guesses: Key to the Library of Worlds?
Fans offered other guesses.
Some called it a hologram projector or display key.
Others suggested Celestial tech or a device built by Reed.
One reply linked it to the object flying through the air in the trailer, though another fan pointed out the flying object is Mjolnir and the mystery piece remains in Doom’s hand.
The device also looks like a key as there appear to be slots on each side where another similar device connects. Perhaps Doom is searching for the other device?
Fans also think it could be a lightsaber. No joke. Marvel Comics is actually doing a Marvel/Star Wars crossover in the comics by Kevin Smith.
Update: It just may be the Key to the Library of Worlds, which in Jonathan Hickman’s Secret Wars saga grants access to a pocket dimension outside the Multiverse that Doctor Doom uses while preparing for the final Incursions and the creation of Battleworld. And again, the statue shows Doom holding a book as well.
The Statue Makes the Accessory Look Important
Since Iron Studios labels the piece as an Avengers: Doomsday statue rather than a comic design, the accessory likely came from movie reference material.
It still does not confirm the Ultimate Nullifier or the Key to the Library of Worlds. The arm could come from unused concept art, a deleted shot, or an object with a different purpose.
The hand-painted polystone statue measures 22.4 cm tall and costs $249.99. Iron Studios expects it to ship in the third quarter of 2026.
Marvel has already put Doom’s throne room at the center of its Avengers: Doomsday marketing. The mystery accessory now gives fans another clue to track before release.
