Avengers: Doomsday Plot Leak Confirmed: ‘It Is Now Out There’

UPDATE: The leak includes details about Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man from the Sam Raimi trilogy — here’s what it claims about his role in Avengers: Doomsday (spoiler-light).

Warning: Potential spoilers for Avengers: Doomsday below.

The Avengers: Doomsday plot document that has been floating around since February just got its biggest validation yet, and it didn’t come from Marvel.

John Campea says it’s the real thing, who recently backed up our own reports about James Gunn leaving DC.

Campea: Avengers: Doomsday Plot Leak Is the Full Outline

On Wednesday’s episode of The John Campea Show, Campea revealed that two separate viewers — not Hollywood insiders, just fans of the show — sent him the document within the last 24 hours.

Campea, who has said for months that he has known the film’s story, told his audience he went through it line by line and reached a blunt verdict: “This document is the full plot outline of Avengers Doomsday.”

Co-host Robert Meyer Burnett, who Campea says has also known the plot for some time, reviewed the document as well and backed the assessment on air.

What makes this land differently than the usual leak chatter is the show’s track record on this exact story.

Campea noted that for months the two have watched Doomsday leaks come and go, privately knowing most were wrong.

He also reminded viewers of a prediction he made long ago: that everything would be out there by July. It’s now July 1, and per Campea, the leak is “starting to hit critical mass.”

What the Leaked Document Says

The document in question is the same full plot breakdown that first surfaced online back in February.

Among its biggest claims: Steve Rogers has been living in the Fantastic Four’s universe with Peggy and their son, the Incursions storyline drives the heroes of three universes together, and the film ends with Doctor Doom winning outright, destroying the Multiverse, resurrecting everyone with their memories wiped, and sitting on his throne as Emperor of Battleworld, straight out of the 2015 Secret Wars comic.

It’s worth noting the December teaser wave already lined up with several of the document’s beats: Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers holding a baby, Thor praying to Odin about returning to his daughter, and a ruined Xavier mansion pointing to X-Men who have survived Incursions.

Spoilers Are Now ‘Almost Unavoidable’

Campea didn’t sugarcoat what this means for fans hoping to go in clean.

With the film still five and a half months out, he called dodging spoilers “almost unavoidable” from here, though both hosts argued knowing the plot won’t dent the experience, comparing it to Harry Potter readers watching the films.

Burnett went further, saying audiences will still be shocked in the theater because of how insane the movie is.

Marvel Studios has not commented, and it won’t.

But between the February document surviving four months of scrutiny, the teasers matching its beats, and now Campea and Burnett — two people who claim they’ve known the story all along — vouching for it on the record, this is the closest thing to confirmation the leak will get before December 18.
