Marvel saved the real firepower for the room.
A brand new Avengers: Doomsday trailer debuted exclusively at Marvel’s Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday night, shown only to the 6,500 fans inside, and by all accounts it rocked the building.
What’s In The Trailer
This is a Doom and Fantastic Four story first, and the trailer leans into it hard. Per Variety and reports from inside the hall, the footage opens on Doom seated on his throne while Vanessa Kirby’s Sue Storm narrates who Victor Von Doom used to be, calling him “the smartest guy in the room” before everything he loved was taken from him. The Fantastic Four clearly have deep history with him.
Doom walks his castle halls past the massive portrait of his wife and child. Reed Richards, heartbroken, asks “Did you do this, Victor?” before screaming it, per Erik Voss, who was in the room.
Then the action: Thor attacks Doom with Stormbreaker, and Doom stops the axe effortlessly, with reports describing it as a two-finger catch. Thor’s warning to Doom delivers the trailer’s hardest line: “I swear you will beg for hell long before I grant it.” Doom answers by raising his army of Sentinels with green magic to face the combined Avengers, Fantastic Four, and X-Men.
The character notes are their own headlines: Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers now has a child, Thor appears with his daughter Love, Loki shows up in TVA gear, the Fantastic Four meet Black Panther and the Wakandans, and the footage marks the official MCU debut of Fox’s X-Men team.
And it ends the only way it could. The trailer closes on Doom’s declaration: “I am Doom.”
The Leak Called It. Again.
Here’s the part regular Cosmic Book News readers already know: this is the trailer the leaked description laid out two weeks ago, beat for beat. The throne opening, the castle walk past the portrait, Thor hurling Stormbreaker and Doom swatting it aside, the Sentinel army closer. When the official online trailer turned out to be the CinemaCon cut, we said the leftover beats likely belonged to the Hall H trailer. They did. The Doomsday leaks keep hitting.
Hall H Exclusive Lasted About 30 Minutes
Marvel kept the trailer off the internet on purpose, an old-school Hall H exclusive for the people in the room. The internet had other plans: bootleg recordings started circulating on X within the hour, with fans passing around versions boasting “better audio.” Whether Marvel eventually releases it officially or lets the CinemaCon cut carry the campaign online, the footage is already out there, which has been the story of this movie’s entire marketing cycle.
