The Avengers (2012): World Premiere Is April 11th; Almost A Month Before U.S.

The Avengers movie will have its world premiere on Wednesday, April 11, at Hollywood’s El Capitan Theatre.

The red carpet event will begin at 6pm, with the first screening at 7pm.

This is almost a month ahead of the May 4th U.S. release date.

International release dates begin with Australia on April 25th, with the UK premiere the following day.

U.S. Avengers fans may want to stay off Facebook, Twitter and generally the entire internet as spoilers are sure to arrive online! 

The Avengers assembles May 4th, 2012 and is directed by Joss Whedon, starring Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Chris Evans as Captain America, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, Scarlett Johansson as the Black Widow and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye.

Marvel Studios announced today that the World Premiere of its highly anticipated, summer event movie “Marvel’s The Avengers” will be held Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood.
 
The red carpet will roll out at 6 p.m. for the cast and special guests, and the screening will begin at 7 p.m.
 
The event will be sponsored by film promotional partners Acura, Harley-Davidson, and Red Baron® Pizza. 
 
“Marvel’s The Avengers” stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Tom Hiddleston, with Stellan SkarsgÃ¥rd and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury. Directed by Joss Whedon, the epic action-adventure film is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series “The Avengers,” first published in 1963 and a comics institution ever since.
 
In the Super Hero team up of a lifetime, Iconic Marvel Super Heroes Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow are called to duty when an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security. Nick Fury, Director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., must assemble the Super Heroes to pull the world back from the brink of disaster.
 
“Marvel’s The Avengers” is presented by Marvel Studios in association with Paramount Pictures. The film is being produced by Marvel Studios’ President Kevin Feige and executive produced by Alan Fine, Jon Favreau, Stan Lee, Louis D’Esposito, Patricia Whitcher, Victoria Alonso and Jeremy Latcham.  The story is by Zak Penn and Joss Whedon, and the screenplay is by Joss Whedon.
