ANNIHILATION: SILVER SURFER
Thanos and Annihilus

Now this sounds pretty cool, true or not.

The folks over at Comic Book Movie have word that CosmicBookNews.com‘s most hated villain (he killed Quasar!), Annihilus, might have a slim chance of appearing in next year’s The Avengers movie.

They state a source filled them in about early drafts of the script having the fiend from the Negative Zone as appearing. Apparently, Loki was (or is) to bring his invading Army to Earth through the Negative Zone. That could be true as in Thor we learned there are other ways to Midgard (Earth) – that even Heimdall can not see! Certainly the Negative Zone would fit that description.

And as Loki and his army make their way through the Negative Zone — Annihilus follows!

Fans of Marvel Cosmic of yesterday will certainly remember the critically acclaimed Marvel comic book event, Annihilation, that saw Annihilus invade our universe in an attempt to — annihilate! What’s interesting, is that during Annihilation, the mad Titan Thanos partnered up with Annihilus.

Guess who has also been rumored to make an appearance in The Avengers?

Yep. Thanos!

ANNIHILATION: NOVA

Let’s speculate even further.

The Marvel super hero known as Nova was involved with that event, an event that took Nova to main event status (or did, but we’re not getting into ALL that here). Nova kills Annihilus by rippin’ his cuts out from the inside! And there is speculation about Nova being involved in a future Marvel movie. Guardians of the Galaxy is on its way. In addition, Nova is becoming more entrenched within the “general public” through cartoons and video games, as well being said to be a major major player in the upcoming Marvel Comics in 2012.

If true, that would be pretty damn awesome.

The Avengers assembles May 4th, 2012 and is directed by Joss Whedon, starring Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Chris Evans as Captain America, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, Scarlett Johansson as the Black Widow and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye.
