The Avengers (2012): More Evidence That Spider-Man Makes A Cameo

Back in November of 2011, Cosmic Book News informed you that Sony and Disney had come to a deal in regards to the rights for the Amazing Spider-Man.

Sony would keep the movie rights, while Disney would hold the merchandising rights.

Walt Disney CEO Robert A. Iger even stated, “We won’t be specific about the economics of this 2-way transaction, but we expect it will drive attractive returns for Disney.”

How attractive?

With that news, we put it forth that it would be mutually beneficial to see an appearance by either Spider-Man or Peter Parker in The Avengers, as the movie is released two months prior to Marc Webb’s Amazing Spider-Man.

Now, some more news has surfaced in regards to a Spider-Man cameo.

Jenny Agutter, who is set to appear in The Avengers as a purported council member, stated that she was on the set and that it housed a parking lot full of Winnebagos – one of which was for Spider-Man.

Here’s the blurb from an interview with the Radio Times (via Bleeding Cool):

As for Agutter, she’s about to metamorphose again to appear alongside Samuel L. Jackson and Scarlett Johansson in upcoming Hollywood blockbuster The Avengers.
“I’m sworn to secrecy! I wasn’t allowed a script until I got there, and when I did I felt like a complete child being on big sets and a huge parking lot full of Winnebagos.”
She does let slip that two of these housed Spider-Man and Iron Man; we suspect Agutter won’t able to avoid sci-fi conventions for much longer.
