The Avengers (2012): Joss Whedon Talks Easter Eggs and No Spider-Man

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:875:]]As a comic book fan, when it comes to seeing The Avengers you can bet your last issue of Quasar that most will be looking through the movie with a magnifying glass!

However, director Joss Whedon states that need not be the case.

“This isn’t the kind of movie where we’re going to wink at the audience,” Whedon told Total Film Magazine. “There’s a great deal of humour and there are a couple of things where people will go, ”˜Oh, that guy and that guy!’ It’s not Where’s Waldo?”

Whedon also brings up the Spider-Man rumor, and again we do hear that the Web-Crawler will not be appearing.

“There is no Spider-Man in this movie!” Whedon said. “I feel so bad for Jenny [Agutter]. I think she just slipped on a name and the reporter ran with it. It’s not like she goes to Comic-Con every year–”

Hmmm…he didn’t say that Peter Parker wasn’t making an appearance!

And speaking of the Cosmic Avenger, we here at Cosmic Book News are hoping to see a cameo by S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Wendell Vaughn!

Anybody on your wish list?
