The Avengers (2012): Estimated $125+ Million For Opening Weekend

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:1376:]]The Avengers are assembling — and in a big way.

Coming off of yesterday’s world premiere, movie industry insiders are tracking the movie to be a huge success when it opens May 4th.

Deadline offers up some numbers, with mention the movie might bring in over $125 million, which would be the biggest opening for Marvel Studios since Iron Man 2.

Deadline states that movie theaters are adding additional screens, pre-sale online tickets are selling out, and the midnight showing is expected to be “phenomenal.”

In addition, movie theaters are said to be scrambling for enough help to accommodate the three day Avengers blitz as the added screens will certainly be filled with fellow Assemblers.

It’s even possible that The Avengers might take the top spot for opening on a non-holiday weekend, which is currently held by Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 2 at $169.1 million; Iron Man 2 opened at $128 million.
