[[wysiwyg_imageupload:1642:]]The Avengers movie surpassed all expectations as it came in this past weekend at $200.3 million – a new U.S record – which makes The Avengers the highest-grossing domestic debut of all time.
At first it was reported that The Avengers movie was on track for $150 million, then $165 million, and then upwards of $170-180 million was said. But the $200+ million was just through the roof!
If you saw the movie I think there is really no wonder as to why the film is such a smashing success. It really has something for everyone. It’s an inspiring movie; the young and old alike love it, and it also has something for the female audience as well as with male.
And word of mouth regarding The Avengers has just been overall positive. I think I’ve read two negative reviews, but let’s be honest, they were pretty crappy so we can forget them.
So with the $200.3 million U.S opening, so far The Avengers has tallied a whopping $641.8 million over just 12 days.
Wow.
