Amazing Spider-Man 2: Marc Webb Describes Jamie Foxx as “Electrifying”

Earlier it came out that Jamie Fox is in talks to play the villain Electro in “Amazing Spider-Man 2.”

The actor even tweeted – most likely teasing – that he dressed up at Electro for Halloween and that the costume fit well.

Now it appears to be a done deal as director Marc Webb has recently commented about the situation as well.

CraveOnline asked Marc Webb for a comment about Jamie Foxx and Electro in the “Amazing Spider-Man 2,” with CraveOnline reporting the following answer:

We asked Marc Webb about Jamie Foxx in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2. He complimented Foxx as an actor, described him as “ELECTRIFYING.”

With the news that Foxx may be Electro, fans have already begun to offer their two cents. Most seem to be on the fence, with images of Jim Carrey as the Riddler coming to mind. Still others feel Foxx might do the character justice as his portrayal in Ray won the actor an Academy Award for best Actor.

The “Amazing Spider-Man 2” swings into theaters May 2nd, 2014 directed by Marc Webb starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone and Shailene Woodley.
