We just heard about the new Electro costume from Jamie Foxx for “Amazing Spider-Man 2,” and now get get a bit about the villain’s origin.

Seems Electro is genius who constantly gets passed over or taken advantage of by just about everybody, but when he comes upon Spider-Man on the street, he gets really attached to his new found friend.

“You’ll see that in his whole life, no one is talking to him. People have stolen his ideas at the big company. He’s a nobody,” Foxx told MTV News. “At a certain point, Spider-Man bumps into him and says, ‘You’re my guy. You’re my eyes and ears on the street. And he says his name — no one has ever said [Max] Dillon’s name.

“The encounter leaves Dillon reeling with Spider-Man fan fever,” Foxx continued. “He sort of starts thinking that somehow, he’s Spider-Man’s partner.”

From there, MTV goes on to describe that Dillon’s own mother forgets his birthday, and that certain events grant him his electrical powers with all this creating the villain, Electro.

“When it turns on, he lights it up,” Jamie Foxx teased.

The “Amazing Spider-Man 2” swings into theaters May 2nd, 2014 directed by Marc Webb starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Shailene Woodley, Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHaan and Martin Sheen.
