Another day, another name lands on the Man of Tomorrow cameo pile. This time it’s Aquaman.
A new rumor claims Alexander Ludwig, the 6’2″ star of Vikings, The Hunger Games, and Bad Boys: Ride or Die, will play the DCU’s new Arthur Curry in James Gunn’s Superman sequel.
Label this one accordingly: RUMOR.
The claim comes from scooper LiveWarrior and is making the rounds by way of fan aggregator accounts.
LiveWarrior has no proven track record on DC, and no trade has touched this.
Compare that to last week’s Blue Beetle news, which went from Daniel Richtman to TheWrap, Variety, and Deadline within hours. This one hasn’t. Grain of salt.

Why It’s Spreading Anyway
Ludwig as Aquaman is one of the internet’s longest-running fan casts.
Viral concept art of a blond, classic-comics Ludwig Aquaman made the rounds back in 2023, and he’s topped fan-cast polls ever since. This rumor is, conveniently, the fan cast come true. Take that as a red flag, or as smoke, depending on your appetite.
What gives it oxygen is the vacancy.
Jason Momoa’s Aquaman is done, with Momoa now playing Lobo in the DCU following Supergirl. Gunn said they’d figure out Aquaman after The Lost Kingdom, and nearly three years later, nothing.

The Cameo Pile Keeps Growing
If real, Ludwig joins a Man of Tomorrow roster that already includes Blue Beetle, Aaron Pierre’s John Stewart, Supergirl, Mister Terrific, Hawkgirl, the Engineer, Maxima, Rick Flag Sr., Matthew Lillard’s mystery role, and Gunn’s Guy Gardner tease.
That’s exactly the big cameos and fan service our bombshell report said to expect for what could be Gunn’s last hurrah.
Per that reporting, the Man of Tomorrow script was “Frankensteined” together from previous ideas, with what began as a Superman sequel now a mini-Justice League “Gang” movie as Gunn keeps bolting on DC characters.
An Aquaman cameo would fit that pattern like a glove. Which is exactly why an unproven scooper claiming one is an easy sell.
These things resolve one of two ways: a trade confirms within days, or it dies quietly on the pile. Watch which one happens.
