It looks as if Paramount will not be changing much with the new Star Trek 3 film as it’s being reported that Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are being brought back for the third movie.

It’s also stated Damon Lindelof, who helped out with Star Trek Into Darkness, will not be brought back on Star Trek 3.

Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci wrote and produced both Star Trek movies under the directorial leadership of J.J. Abrams, with Abrams also said to be in negotiations with Paramount to produce.

THR also says that Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto and Zoe Saldana are expected to return for Star Trek 3 as well.

Previously, it was rumored that Paramount was going with a batch of new writers for Star Trek 3, but which is often the case when it comes to the ST movies, that turned out not to be the case.

The report makes no mention of a director on Star Trek 3, but J. J. Abrams is still not completely ruled out as he does start production on Star Wars: Episode VII with a recent report stating as early as this month, which may end up giving the director enough time to take on the third Star Trek film in time for the franchise 50th Anniversary in 2016.

The announcement of Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci on Star Trek 3 also comes after the news of Len Wiseman leaving The Mummy reboot, of which Kurtzman and Orci are involved with.
