The wait finally has an end date. Ahsoka Season 2 premieres January 20, 2027 on Disney+, with the date revealed on a brand new poster at D23.
The poster features Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka the White in profile, white lightsaber ignited, with a massive spectral face looming behind her and red battle imagery running along the bottom.
Ahsoka Season 2 poster locks in January 20
The hard date narrows down the early 2027 window announced at the Disney Upfronts back in May.
Season 2 was originally targeted for this year before Lucasfilm pushed it to 2027. The premiere lands more than three years after the Season 1 finale left Ahsoka and Sabine stranded on Peridea and Thrawn loose in the main galaxy.
The fan reaction says it all. One word keeps popping up under the posts: finally.
Update, August 21: The data says something different. Luminate’s mid-year numbers show Ahsoka Season 1 missed the Top 10 Disney+ original series for the first half of 2026, which goes a long way toward explaining why Season 2’s marketing leads with Hayden Christensen’s Anakin.
New concept art: Huyang goes full General Grievous
The Lucasfilm booth also unveiled new Season 2 concept art, and the standout piece shows the ancient Jedi droid Huyang wielding four lightsabers as he squares off with Shin Hati.
The image is a dead ringer for General Grievous stalking Obi-Wan Kenobi in Revenge of the Sith. It also fits Huyang, who has spent thousands of years helping younglings build those very weapons.
Other pieces include Ezra Bridger sprinting through a New Republic hangar as pilots scramble, Ahsoka and Sabine watching a Peridea sunset with the convor Morai perched above them, Ahsoka the White studying ancient carvings, Nightsisters unleashing their energy bows in a corridor firefight, and Thrawn brooding in a red-lit command room.
The art comes from Lucasfilm veterans including Matt Allsopp, Christian Alzmann, Brian Matyas, and Andrée Wallin.
The Mortis thread from the Season 1 finale looks alive and well, with Morai front and center and ancient carvings on Peridea.
The Clone Wars flashback is the main event
All of this lands on top of the big reveal from the costume display. As we covered, snow costumes for Hayden Christensen’s Anakin and Padawan Ahsoka confirm a live-action Clone Wars flashback is coming in Season 2.
A January premiere also puts the season square in the franchise’s 50th anniversary year, lining up with our exclusive Comic-Con reporting that Lucasfilm is going big on the Clone Wars as part of the celebration.
That Saturday presence delivered. The first Ahsoka Season 2 teaser trailer is now out, featuring Anakin front and center and Thrawn declaring war.
Ahsoka Season 2 runs eight episodes and premieres January 20, 2027 on Disney+, with Dave Filoni describing the season as all-out war between Thrawn and the New Republic. Rosario Dawson, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Eman Esfandi, Lars Mikkelsen, and Hayden Christensen return, with Rory McCann taking over as Baylan Skoll.
A first look at Star Wars: Starfighter was also shown off at D23.
