Halloween Ends shows off new images of Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie Strode along with Michael Myers who returns from the last movie where he laid waste to an entire town.
The images come via the latest issue of Total Film Magazine which has a featured article on the film, dubbed the last movie in the franchise ever.
The details include the flick sees a time jump from Halloween Kills where in Halloween Ends Laurie and her granddaughter Allyson are living together and “have a good relationship” and have dealt with their “shared trauma and loss together.”
“We don’t really explain that,” says director David Gordon Green about the time jump arguing the mystery is better left intact. “It’s like: I don’t want to see where Jaws goes to sleep at night when I’m watching a shark movie. I want to see him when he pops up, and he’s got an appetite!”
Jamie Lee Curtis also offers Laurie Strode has evolved from the previous two films.
“By the time you meet Laurie Strode, she has gotten help,” Jamie Lee Curtis said. “Help to process the level of violence that has been perpetrated against her and her family. She’s done the work. And there’s a moment at the beginning of the movie where you actually meet Laurie – I’m not going to say she’s as innocent as she was back when she was a 17-year-old girl – but she has a layer of hope about her. That’s a beautiful place to start a really tragic, incredibly violent ending.”
Last month also saw the announcement that Halloween Ends will have a same-day theater and streaming release on Peacock when it gets released on Oct. 14.
“We discovered that there are people who want to go to the theater and scream their guts out. And other people who want to stay at home and scream their guts out,” said Curtis. “But what we know is that people watched and we got great results both from box office and from streaming. This year, we want to make sure that as many people as possible can see Halloween Ends before Halloween, so we decided to give that same gift to the fans again. So starting on October 14th, you can go to the theater to see Laurie and Michael confront each other for the last time or you can watch it at home on Peacock.”
