Batman & Robin grossed around $238 million worldwide, which was considerably less than the $411 million Michael Keaton’s first Batman movie brought in back in 1989; it’s on par with Batman Returns ($266 million), and also less than Batman Forever ($336.5 million).

Eventually, Chris Nolan would come onboard and launch The Dark Knight Trilogy with Batman Begins in 2005 ($374.million), which would lead to the billion dollar blockblusters The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises.
